Dog trainer course

The final phase of a six-month dog handler training is underway at the SAF Dog Training Centre in Niš.
Non-commissioned officers and professional soldiers who have shown complete dedication and affinity for working with dogs have been selected to undergo training at the "Knjaz Mihailo" barracks. Once they complete their training, they will be appointed as dog handler and trainer instructors.

Under the guidance of experienced trainers/instructors, course participants are completing the training programme, which includes dog handler training methodology and dog training skills and they are also training their “teaching dogs”, which they will use for delivering future courses at the Dog Training Centre.
Upon the completion of this course, the Serbian Armed Forces will get a new generation of skilled dog handler instructors. Working dogs are irreplaceable aides in numerous tasks such as providing security to protected persons, buildings and vehicles, and searching for mines, UXO and psychoactive substances.
