Rotation of Serbian Armed Forces Contingent in Central African Republic

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces, who have been deployed since last November as part of United Nations peacekeeping forces in the Central African Republic, have returned in their country, following successful participation in that peacekeeping operation.

In previous almost eight months, the contingent of the Serbian Armed Forces, which consisted of staff officers and Role 2+ field hospital, successfully discharged all the tasks in line with the mission mandate, thus confirming high performance standards of Serbian Armed Forces members in peacekeeping operations. They have been replaced by a new contingent, which has arrived today in the capital of the Central African Republic, Bangui, where our field hospital is located.

The Serbian field hospital, which has been fully autonomous and self-sustainable for two years now, provides the first and second level of health care to United Nations personnel, as well as emergency surgical and other interventions, primary dental care and evacuation of the injured.

The Serbian Armed Forces started their participation in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in the Central African Republic in 2014 by sending medical and non-medical personnel, and besides the military field hospital Role 2+, they have deployed their members as staff officers and military observers as well.
