Army units undergo training with 120 mm M-75 mortars

Members of the 1st Army Brigade infantry and mechanized battalions are currently undergoing routine 120 mm M-75 mortar fire training.

Besides professional members, soldiers performing their military service in these units also undergo this type of training. The training objective is to maintain and improve their skills in executing collective assignments such as providing fire support on operations.
Special emphasis is placed on practicing tactical actions and procedures for firing, including taking up the position, shifting the weapon from its marching position into the combat-ready position, calculation and target acquisition, and the crew’s action after issuing fire order.

This training cycle wraps up with tactical drills and scheduled live firings executed at "Pasuljanske Livade" Training Ground where the crews’ ability to complete unit-specific missions will be assessed.

The 120 mm M-75 mortar is intended for neutralizing and destroying enemy personnel and weapons, creating smoke screens, blinding the observation posts and fire positions, illuminating the battlefield, opening passages through wire obstacles and minefields and demolition of light fortifications.
