LTG Miletic in USA

SAF CHOD Ltg Miloje Miletic stated today during his five-day visit to USA that he would be considering in the talks with the ONG and US army officials the possibilities of furthering bilateral military cooperation where the top priority would be educating officers.

This visit is a continuity of Minister Sutanovac’s visit in November last year when many issues of the cooperation were broached, as Miletic stated to TANJUG news agency.

During the visit Miletic said he would be having talks with ONG commander Major General Gregory Wayt as well as with the Hungarian CHOD General Laszlo Tombola.

"On this occasion we will discuss the possibilities of enlarging the trilateral cooperation between ONG and Hungarian and Serbian army within the State Partnership Programn since ONG also cooperates with Hungarian army.

As he explained our priorities are education and training of officers and NCOs, establishing an NCO corps as well as training and education of units.

“We wish to reduce the number of activities within this program but to improve the quality” as SAF CHOD observed.

CHOD of SAF will also visit a number of military bases during his visit including the air base Wright Peterson.

On 2 March General Miletic will be meeting both with the Chief of the National Guard Bureau, GEN Craig McKinley, and with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen.

"As far as the bilateral military cooperation is concerned we will discuss the current security cooperation in our region, situation in KiM and at the administrative line in GSZ, cooperation with KFOR and other issues contributing the stable peace in the region.

SAF delegation, as he said, will also present a stance that it is interested in intensifying the issue of accession to programs of international military education and training.
