The ceremony was attended by Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, members of his committee, wife and children of Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Stanojević — SAF officer who was killed in MONUSCO, representatives of MoD and SAF organizational units and other guests.
In his address, General Mojsilović congratulated all SAF members who had participated, or were currently participating in UN peacekeeping operations on the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, praising their professional and competent engagement which earned them respect in international environment, adding that they represented the Republic of Serbia and its Armed Forces in a dignified manner.

Speaking about the activities undertaken as part of the Serbian Armed Forces’ second mission, Chief of the General Staff pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces were continually improving their capabilities for participation in UN and EU peacekeeping operations and were analyzing in detail their potential future deployments on missions worldwide, so as to be ready for any task assigned to them by the state leadership.
As part of the ceremony, General Mojsilović and the wife of the killed Lieutenant Colonel Stanojević uncovered the Memorial Wall at the Peacekeeping Operations Centre with a photograph of this SAF officer who lost his life on 29 March while performing a regular air reconnaissance task in the UN mission in Congo.
