Serbian Armed Forces provide assistance to citizens of Ivanjica

As part of a CIMIC project, in an effort to help the local self-government create conditions for a stable power supply, SAF members have been clearing the electric power distribution route in the Municipality of Ivanjica over the past two weeks.
In the villages of Međurečje and Sveštica and the locality of Sađavac, the SAF Army Engineer Working Group has been removing the undergrowth and tree trunks at multiple locations on a 20km stretch. Over the past several years, during bad weather, residents of Ivanjica and surrounding areas have experienced power cuts caused by such undergrowth.

This activity was part of a CIMIC project executed through engineer training. Not only did it create conditions for a reliable power supply, but it also improved the skills of engineer units in performing general activities in support of forces on operation.

As many times before, SAF members were warmly welcomed by the locals who expressed their gratitude saying that such activities are proof that the citizens of Serbia could rely on their Armed Forces anytime.
As part of their third mission, the SAF have provided assistance to the citizens of this area on multiple occasions - being engaged in the reconstruction of the road and waterworks infrastructure, clearing the snow and providing water supplies. CIMIC projects and assistance to the local population, in this area and beyond, are proofs of readiness and capabilities of the SAF to provide help to the citizens when they need it most.
