Minister received the US Senate delegation
Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac received and talked with the US Senate Delegation led by Senator George Voinovich.Both sides expressed satisfaction on the level of cooperation in the field of defense which is the best part of bilateral relations between Serbia and the US. Both sides also agreed that cooperation should be continued on very successful programs, such as cooperation in military education and the cooperation within the State Partnership Program.
Senator Voinovich once again remarked on the high level of cooperation achieved between the Ohio National Guard and the SAF. As regards Serbia’s European integrations, he expressed full support to Serbia on its European path.
Minister acquainted the delegation with the level of reform we have reached in reforming the defense system of Serbia. He stressed that the ministry’s priorities in the upcoming period were full professionalization, modernization of the army and more intensive participation in multinational operations.
Recalling the current security political situation, both sides agreed that only an intensive regional cooperation can enable successful response to all security challenges and risks the region is facing.Minister Sutanovac emphasized that MoD and SAF participate in all regional security initiatives, giving full contribution to building peace and stability in the West Balkans.
