Members of Serbian Armed Forces donate humanitarian aid

Upon their return from the mission, members of the Serbian force protection platoon who took part in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon made a contribution to the Care Home for Persons with Developmental Disabilities run by the Monastery of St. Petka in the village of Izvor near Paraćin.

Members of this Training Command unit handed over the monetary donation to the sisters of St. Petka, who have been taking care of people with disabilities for decades.
This is another in a series of humanitarian acts traditionally performed by members of the Serbian Armed Forces who participate in peacekeeping operations, both in the countries where they are deployed and in the Republic of Serbia upon their return from the mission. Apart from being humane, these acts also contribute to the development of mutual trust between members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the local population.

Members of the force protection platoon were deployed in Lebanon from August last year to the beginning of March this year, and despite the difficult security situation in this Middle Eastern country, they managed to perform all assigned tasks in accordance with the mission's mandate, representing the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia.
