December class of soldiers take the pledge of allegiance

The December class of soldiers took a pledge of allegiance yesterday in the training centers in Sombor, Jakovo, Pancevo, Valjevo, Zajecar, Krusevac and Leskovac.

Heavy snow and rather slowed-down transport did not discourage parents, families and friends of conscripts to gather and share the joy of the pledge taking ceremony.

SAF CHOD LTG Miloje Miletic attended the ceremony in the fifth training center in Zajecar.

- The professionalization process creates real conditions for the skills and knowledge attained by these soldiers to be the criteria which will qualify you for a professional soldier, as Miletic pointed out in his congratulatory address.
This is why this process envisions that young men motivated to become soldiers will join the army.

Addressing those commanders who train youngest soldiers, General Miletic stated that he expected from them to reach and improve those capabilities with this generation in order to enable them to perform their tasks successfully.

I would also like to stress that the military is on the path of transformation into a professional army with all the capabilities well assessed in mid-term plans and long-term plans. Attaining these capabilities will enable the army to be the guarantor of peace and stability as a reliable pillar of the international position of our country.

Furthermore, as he stressed, in those conditions where security risks, challenges and threats know no boundaries, the army has to be one of the pillars of international security capacity and credibility of the Republic of Serbia.

Ending his address, he expressed his belief that the citizens of Zajecar would help young soldiers with their hospitality to take only pleasant memoriesof this town.
The ceremony was attended by the commander of the training command Major General Aleksandar Zivkovic, Commander of the Guard Brig. Gen. Goran Radovanovic, Chief of the Zajecar District Dusan Ivanic, Mayor of Zajecar Bosko Nicic, Archbishop of Timok District Justin, presidents of Knjazevac and Boljevac municipalities and the representatives of social, cultural and warrior associations as well as some 3000 present parents, family members and friends.

The ceremonies were also attended by MoD and SAF reps, as well as the reps of local self-government.
