Admiral Stavridis visits SAF
SAF CHOD received today the delegation led by NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), Admiral James Stavridis, who is also the chief commander of US forces in Europe, (EUCOM). Admiral Stavridis took the post of SACEUR in July last year and this is his first visit to Serbia.
General Miletic talked to his guest about cooperation within the Partnership for Peace Program and the commitment of our country to use all the mechanisms of this Program . general Miletic expressed the need to train persons preparing to be employed in the Mission of Serbia to Brussels.
There was also talk about the cooperation of SAF and KFOR. General Miletic pointed out that the planned downsizing of KFOR forces leaves room for instability and has demanded from KFOR to use all its resources to provide full protection to all Kosovo citizens and to protect the cultural objects of national significance for the Republic of Serbia. Admiral Stavridis emphasized that KFOR would take care of all security aspects and that with respect to the possibility of downsizing KFOR, Serbia would be consulted.Bearing in mind that training was one of the main priorities for the further reform of the defense system, and our readiness to increase educational possibilities abroad for MoD and SAF members in military educational institutions was also confirmed.
Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac also talked with Admiral Stavridis today.
