Armoured units undergo training at Army Training Centre

Specialist training for military volunteers (class of December 2021) is underway at the Army Training Centre in Požarevac, as well as additional training for professional soldiers serving in armoured units.  Soldiers are training as gunners and drivers of M-84 tanks and M-80 infantry combat vehicles. Before moving on to combat systems, simulators are used in the training process, allowing individual training and crew training in how to perform fire and tactical missions in all conditions.

In the final segment of this phase of training, soldiers are required to do range and firing practices using armoured units’ armament and master the techniques of driving combat vehicles off-road, in order to be fully trained to perform their duties on tanks and infantry combat vehicles.  At the end of specialist training, soldiers’ ability to perform tasks as part of crews and teams is tested followed by collective training that they undergo in SAF units until the end of their military service. After additional training received at the Army Training Centre, professional soldiers will use the acquired knowledge and skills for performing their duties in tank and mechanized units.
