River Flotilla divers undergo regular training
This week, the River Flotilla Divers are doing regular and fitness cold-weather training on the part of the Danube near Novi Sad.
The training helps divers to maintain a high level of competence and readiness to perform complex diving tasks on rivers, canals and lakes in all weather conditions.The programme includes the hyperbaric chamber training, as well as practising river diving procedures, searching the river bottom, underwater hull inspection and diver rescue and emergency transport in case of underwater accidents.
A large number of complex tasks performed by SAF divers, from underwater mining and weapons testing to search and rescue in all weather conditions, require year-round training. Diving in low visibility and at very low water temperatures is one of the biggest challenges for divers, which is why regular cold-weather training is an essential part of training.
