St. Sava marked in the Military Grammar School

At the Military Grammar School in Belgrade the patron saint’s day of the Serbian schools St. Sava was marked today in attendance of Undersecretary Igor Jovicic.
The holy bread baked to mark the day was broken by the Principal of the Military Grammar School Colonel Milan Stevic and the Principal of Sports Grammar School Vesna Muratovic Drobac with the blessings of the Archbishop Atanasije Rakita.

Archbishop Atanasije reminded the present teachers, students and parents of the significance of St. Sava as the first Serbian teacher and a spiritual father, saying that today’s ceremony was a sort of spiritual alignment of the saints.

- I have never hear that one person did so much as St. Sava did for his Serbian people. He is the founder of Serbia as a state, while also establishing literacy, and acted as a peace maker in the Balkans, always bringing his spirituality to a higher level, as the Principal Colonel Milan Stevic said in his address.
