Minister Stefanović meets with Russia’s Deputy Minister of Defence Shevtsova



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met today with the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, Tatiana Shevtsova, who is on her first official visit to the Republic of Serbia.

At the beginning of the meeting, Stefanović expressed his gratitude to the Russian Federation for its continuing support on the matter of preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia and the position of principle regarding the non-recognition of the so-called Kosovo.
 
The Minister pointed out that the defence cooperation with the Russian Federation is at a historic high, as evidenced by the "Guardian of Order” competition opened last night in Kraljevo, whose organization as part of the "International Army Games 2021" was entrusted to Serbia for the first time.

According to him, high-level meetings certainly contribute to maintaining excellent cooperation in the field of defence, whose strongest segments are military-economic and military-technical cooperation.

Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Shevtsova, in charge of budget and finance, expressed her pleasure at having had the opportunity to personally attend the opening ceremony for the "Guardian of Order" competition and visit Serbia for the first time, the country that Russia cultivates friendly relations with, and that is among 11 countries entrusted with hosting the International Army Games.
 
She praised the defence cooperation and said that it would continue to develop in the coming period, especially the military to military cooperation and cooperation in the fields of military technology and military education.
