Statement



Regarding inaccurate media reports, and with a view to truly informing the public, the Ministry of Defence points out that during the visit of the United Kingdom Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace to Serbia, no document mentioning Russia was signed, nor did Defence Secretary Wallace state that anywhere.

The only document signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, and Defence Secretary Ben Wallace during the visit is the Arrangement between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for improving defence cooperation.

The said Arrangement does not mention the Russian Federation.

The subject of the Arrangement is the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of multinational operations, military training and education, conducting bilateral exercises, reviewing the improvement of cooperation in land and air domains and cyber defence, improving the CBRN cooperation, developing the potential for cooperation between defence industries and research institutions, and mutual invitations to annual military sports events and competitions.
