SMESTA project finished



On occasion of the finalization of SMESTA (Standards in Military English and Serbian and terminology Access) project – the making of service website for the military terminology both in English and in Serbian, a meeting attended by the representatives of the Personnel Department of the MoD HR Sector and the co-chairperson of the PELT executive board Brig. Gen. Sladjan Djordjevic was held today.

The purpose of the project was the making and setting up a specialized service website which will enable all MoD and SAF members as well as to the members of the regional armies where Serbian is spoken to use a reliable source of accepted military terms and abbreviations in Serbian and English as well as the accepted forms of written communication.

The project has been realized within the PELT program (Professional English Learning and Testing) through cooperation and donor help of the partner countries: the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Kingdom of Norway, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Kingdom of Sweden.

The Public Relations Department in cooperation with the IT Department will post the SMESTAS website as an sub-domain of MoD and SAF websites.
