Balkan Chiefs of Defence Conference



The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, participated in the 14th Balkan Chiefs of Defence (CHODs) Conference, held in Sarajevo today.

During the conference, which aims to consider and improve the model of military to military cooperation amongst Balkan countries, as well as the model of response to security challenges, risks and threats in the region, Serbia’s commitment to actively participate in all joint activities within this initiative and the promotion of regional cooperation were confirmed.
 
The annual reports of the Coordination Group and working subgroups on education, training and exercises, and asymmetric threats were adopted at the meeting and the Joint Statement confirmed the readiness of all countries participating in this initiative to improve cooperation and implement the conclusions of the Conference in order to strengthen mutual relations, regional cooperation and security.
 
During his stay in Sarajevo, General Mojsilović had several bilateral meetings with EU and NATO representatives and Chiefs of Defence of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
 
The Balkan Chiefs of Defence (CHODs) Conference is held once a year and the participants are the Chiefs of Defence / General Staffs of the Armed Forces of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia, Turkey and Montenegro. Representatives of the European Union and NATO Military Committees, Allied Joint Force Command Naples and the General Staffs of the Croatian and Slovenian Armed Forces also attend the Conference as guests.

The 15th Balkan Chiefs of Defence Conference will be hosted by the Republic of North Macedonia next year.
