Minister Stefanović visits CBRN Centre in Kruševac

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited today the CBRN Centre in the “Car Lazar“ barracks in Kruševac and attended the shooting of short educational films with members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Military Medical Academy teaching children how to cope with various risky situations in life.
During today's visit, the CBRN Centre Commander, Colonel Sibin Dinčić, briefed Minister Stefanović on the CBRN Centre’s tasks, the training that is performed there, and he also mentioned the involvement of members of the Centre in preventing the spread of Covid-19.

– I had the opportunity to see how dedicated, capable and ready these people are to respond to every challenge, and above all, to protect the citizens of Serbia - said the Minister of Defence.

He announced that investment in the CBRN Centre would continue.

– This is one of the leading centres of its kind in this part of Europe and greater investment is needed to preserve the reputation it has today, and this will be one of the Ministry of Defence’s priorities in the coming period. This is a very important service and it should never be forgotten, because when this kind of problem occurs, the Centre’s personnel are the ones who respond to it first, who make decisions on how to protect us and save our lives - the Minister said.
Stefanović also thanked the CBRN personnel for the enormous amount of work they had done during the Covid-19 pandemic.

– They were really great. Together with our health care, they were the first to disinfect premises in the military units, hospitals, villages, cities and other places that needed disinfecting and they were the first to protect our people – Minister Stefanović emphasized.

He was especially grateful for the opportunity to see young officers teaching children how to protect themselves in the event of any accident and other types of danger.
  – They teach them through tutorials they film, both theoretically and practically, how to protect themselves in various risky situations. I am grateful to them for taking the time to pass on their knowledge to children - said the Minister, who also thanked the "Zastava Film" Military Film Centre, which is filming these tutorials.
