Stefanović: More than 20,000 members of the defence system have been vaccinated

Responding to journalists’ questions during a visit to a new Covid hospital construction site in Novi Sad, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, said that about 20,000 members of the defence system had received the first vaccine dose against Covid-19, while about 14,000 had been fully immunized.

– I would like to thank the staff of our Military Health Department, who managed to achieve this with great deal of effort, as well as their civilian counterparts - Stefanović pointed out.
He also expects that the number of vaccinated will continue to grow and that the defence system will set an example to others by acting seriously and responsibly.

– More than 95% of military doctors have been vaccinated, thus showing how important immunization is, and we need to place trust in the people who treat us. If they, who are experts, have been vaccinated and if they are trying so hard to disprove all those nonsensical stories and myths about vaccines, we should show that we trust them, as much as we do when we get sick and come to seek their help. We should show how much we trust them by getting vaccinated, just as they did, and not waiting to get sick - said Stefanović.
