Minister Stefanović: “Response 2021“ - a confirmation of strength and readiness

"The President of Serbia has made a positive appraisal of our performance and said he was satisfied with what was shown at both training grounds, and we are proud of his appraisal and what our units were able to show”, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, in the Radio and Television of Serbia’s Dnevnik (Evening News).

He pointed out that the President of Serbia and the Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić had the opportunity to see that the Serbian police was ready to immediately join the Serbian Armed Forces on combat assignments on his orders.
During today's Joint Live Fire Exercise "Response 2021", citizens had the opportunity to see, among other things, Mi-35 helicopters, which, Minister Stefanović emphasized, were "an impressive force of our military, our country."

According to him, the exercise has shown modern means of combat, with which our armed forces are equipped today.

- You could also see the "Little Miloš", "Big Miloš", "Lazar" and "Pasars" platforms and the rest of the armament that was used today - said Minister Stefanović and added that more new weapons would be shown in the next year or two.

According to him, members of the Ministry of the Interior and the Armed Forces have shown that Serbia can rely on them in war, just as it relies on them every day in peace.

- You could see how much our country has progressed and strengthened our forces, how well we have conducted the exercise in very complex conditions. You could see how focused and precise our helicopter pilots were, as well as the men who operated the new "Pantsir" vehicle, tanks, armoured personnel carriers, multiple rocket launchers and "Plamen" rocket launchers - said Stefanović.

Speaking about the joint action of the armed forces and the police, he points out that circumstances are changing more and more, threats are becoming hybrid, and everything can be a security challenge and threat.

- It is important that everyone is well coordinated in joint action - Minister Stefanović pointed out and added that everyone was ready to protect the interests and security of the citizens of Serbia at all times.

Minister Stefanović also confirmed that two repaired "MiG 29" aircraft had arrived in Serbia from Belarus, and stated that it was part of President Aleksandar Vučić's agreement with the presidents of Russia, Vladimir Putin and Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.

- Thanks to these agreements, Serbia has an impressive Air Force - said Minister Stefanović and explained that the two repaired "MiG 29" aircraft had been transported disassembled and that they would become part of the Serbian Air Force’s armament in the coming period.
