Opening of “Jug” military base on Cepotina. The existence of a military base in Bujanovac municipality is a guarantor of safety and peace in this part of Serbia. However, all those who do not want peace and are involved in an organized crime should have every reason not to feel happy”, as President Tadic said while opening the largest and the most modern military base in the region..

Only through cooperation, understanding and dialogue, can we reach a final solution. I am certain that what is good for Serbia is good for the region and vice versa, as Minister Sutanovac emphasized in Sarajevo, where he led the delegation of MoD at the conference of the American-Adriatic Charter.

A new tool workshop was opened in Uzice based arms factory “Prvi partisan”. A solution is being sought to relocate those parts of the manufacturing facilities of the factory where explosive ordnance is produced into better locations, and to secure better working conditions, as Minister said stressing that soon they would present a solution which would satisfy both the citizens of Uzice and the employees of the factory.

His Holiness, The Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Pavle was buried on Thursday, 19 November in the Rakovica monastery of St. Archangel Michael. In only three years, since the establishment of 204th aviation base, units stationed at Batajnica air base have intensified their flight training, have raised the quality of their pilot and technical personnel, have modernized the airfield infrastructure thus growing into a respectable air force.

It is not easy to enable and train 5000 soldiers in only two years and arm them with all the necessary skills for successful work in SAF units. In the fifth training center in Zajecar, this has already been achieved thorough an effective and better quality training starting from accommodation facilities, training fields all the way to experienced command and instructors personnel.

Apatin and Pozarevac municipalities presented their most important acknowledgements-October award in the training centers stationed in these towns, to Colonels Zeljko Obradovic and Vinko Markovski.

In “Backa” barracks in Backa Toploa garrison, 17th mechanized battalion, Army first brigade has been relocated. Thanks to professional and responsible attitude of the members of the battalion, this unit has a leading position in the brigade.

The Union of Serbian War and Peacetime Military Disabled Persons, an organization established on 28 November 1919, in Slavonski Brod, Croatia has shared the fate of the state for almost nine decades. Today it is an non-political, humanitarian, interest organization advocating and protecting the rights of all the war victims. It has a respectable leadership, and 111 municipality unions with 28000 members. They say that they have managed to get a better status but that a lot of work still lies ahead.


At the time when people usually dwell on their own problems, the family of Lt. Col. Zoltan Slovak from Pancevo took upon themselves to take care of a six-month old girl Maria. Besides their two sons, Stefan a cadet in the Military Academy and Vladimir, a student of a secondary technical school, Zoltan and his wife Verica who wished fervently to have more children, accepted to be providers for a baby who brought much joy to their lives.
