Minister Stefanović: We will continue investing and developing “Zastava Film”

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited today the “Zastava Film“ Military Film Centre, an institution subordinate to the Public Relations Department, that has recently celebrated its 72nd anniversary.

The director of “Zastava Film”, Lieutenant Colonel Goran Ikonić, presented the Centre’s work results and its plans for the future to Minister Stefanović. During the visit, Minister Stefanović was also shown the instructional films "Tactical Weapons and Technical Means Displays", "Open Days" and "Memorial Rooms" which had been prepared for the optional subject of "Fundamentals of Serbia’s Defence System".
  - I am glad to see that "Zastava Film" still preserves our military tradition, keeps alive the memory of all those glorious times of the First and Second World Wars and everything that the armed forces have done for this country since then, and that it keeps alive the memory of all those wonderful people, both from this institution and the entire armed forces, who managed to perform heroic deeds and make us remember why the people have always had such great trust in them and why they guarded the freedom of our homeland so well. I am glad to see that the employees of "Zastava Film" and the Public Relations Department are thinking about how we can improve their work, how we can improve everything that makes this institution so great and how to continue engaging in film activities in the future - Minister Stefanović pointed out.

He noted that "Zastava Film" also made educational films that helped our children learn about our history, tradition, and the glory that the army had won for our country.
  - That is why I want to give them my full support to continue investing in equipment and technology, the staff and their salaries, and help them become the pride of our homeland and the pride of our armed forces in the coming years. I will do everything I can to provide this house with adequate premises and equipment through upcoming projects, and to jointly build a new system that will help our children get the best quality films about the military, about our military technology and all the equipment that the armed forces are purchasing, and about the reasons why it is such a powerful guarantor of our country’s stability. Of course, we also want to help all other citizens get an insight into what "Zastava Film" does, what it films, and remind them of some films that won prestigious awards around world and we hope they will continue with such a tradition in the future - said Minister Stefanović.

At the end of today's visit, on behalf of the Military Film Centre’s staff, the director of "Zastava Film", Lieutenant Colonel Ikonić, presented Minister Stefanović with one of the Centre’s exhibits - a filmstrip with a dedication.
