Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, attended today the handover of ten “Miloš 4x4” armoured combat vehicles to members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade.

- These are modern armoured combat vehicles manufactured by domestic engineers and industry, and they arrived in one of the most elite military units in the world. They came to the right hands, the hands of the unit capable of performing every task in order to protect Serbia, Stefanović said.
The Minister pointed out that these vehicles would significantly strengthen our units and help them remain one the main pillars of defence and security of our country.

- We continue equipping the Serbian Armed Forces and we want them to be, not only the strongest in the region, but one of the most powerful armed forces in accordance with its size. We will invest in vehicles such as “Lazar”, “Miloš” and “Little Miloš”, and this year we also expect the arrival of new “Noras” – Stefanović said, adding that he was glad that domestic companies such as “Jugoimport SDPR”, were doing their best to produce vehicles that were on a par with the world’s best vehicles.
Minister Stefanović also said that this year, in addition to investing in new equipment and ballistic protection, they would continue to invest in soldiers’ standard of living.

- We want our service members to have better salaries, to have the right to buy subsidized flats and for all employees of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence to feel that they have their state’s support. They deserve it because they are doing an important and responsible job and they are fighting day and night to protect their country and ensure its stability - Minister Stefanović emphasized.
Мајоr Aleksandar Milovanović describes “Miloš 4x4”, the multi-purpose armoured combat vehicle, as a vehicle that follows world trends in the development of modern vehicles and points out that having it in the motor pool is a great pleasure, because it ensures mobility, efficiency, protection and it ranks with the vehicles of the modern special units around the world.

- By introducing this multi-purpose armoured combat vehicle into the Serbian Armed Forces armament, the operational capabilities of the Special Operations Battalion "Falcons" and the 72nd Special Operations Brigade have been significantly improved. Members of the battalion have had the opportunity to learn about this combat vehicle’s performance and to see its firepower, high level of ballistic protection and exceptional manoeuvrability on all types of terrain and in all weather conditions - explains Major Stefanović and adds that the vehicle is intended for reconnaissance, anti-terrorist and anti-guerrilla warfare, territory control and the transport of and support to special operations units.
