A Message for the New Year from the Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, extended New Year’s greetings to members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and all citizens of Serbia, wishing them, above all, a healthy 2021.
“Dear citizens of Serbia, this year we have been there for each other. We have tried to overcome all challenges and showed how important togetherness and solidarity are. The year behind us has been an important lesson to all of us. Through its people’s strength, unity and fighting spirit, Serbia has shown that it can cope with any problem. We do not admit defeat to anyone or anything because we have the strength when we stick together“, Stefanović said.
He emphasized that this year the Serbian Armed Forces had been there for their people when they needed them and that they had successfully completed their main task of preserving our citizens’ security.
„Their heroic deeds in the fight against the coronavirus will be the pride of future generations. Military doctors and medical staff have shown us how brave they are in the fight for human lives. They have shown us that they are always there to take care of our health and we cannot thank them enough for everything they have been doing for us“, the Minister said.
Stefanović also emphasized that, thanks to President Vučić’s responsible policy, our country had managed to maintain peace, stability and economic progress.
“Despite all adversities, we have shown the strength of a state that looks after its citizens. May the New Year bring us good health above all, and give us back hugs, broad smiles and carefree family gatherings. Let us protect each other“, said the Minister of Defence.
