Positive results of PRISMA project



In the premises of PRISMA project, a regular session of the Nordic Initiative countries Steering Board, within NATO Trust Fund/PfP and the International Organization for Migration was held yesterday, which was also attended on behalf of MoD by Brig. Gen. Sladjan Djordjevic, acting duty of the Assistant Minister of Defense for Human Resources.

Within talks on financing the National Retraining Program for military and civilian personnel in MoD and SAF in the next year, the representatives of 16 Nordic Initiative member states were very positive about the effects of the realization of PRISMA program and expressed their pleasure with the results achieved.

Stressing that in Serbia, more than in other countries of the Western Balkans, the state is very seriously taking care of the redundant personnel in the defense system of Serbia, the Norwegian DA, the country which is most engaged in this initiatve, Lt. Col. Terje Haverstadt stressed that the way of providing for the redundant personnel in the military of Serbia had proved to be very successful.


Furthermore, the Ukrainian State Department for Resettling of Retired Military Personnel and the conversion of former military buildings is also visiting Serbia.

Stressing that the results of the Serbian national program are very encouraging, and that during the visit they have seen all the similarities and differences in settling the redundant military personnel between Serbia and Ukraine, the Chief of the Ukrainian Department Ihor Holoshka pointed out that the majority of the solutions the Ukranian delegation had seen, could very well be used in his country too. Some of this solutions can even affect future manning process, which could significantly reduce the uncertainty and increase security in the region.
