Minister Stefanović visits Training Command Headquarters

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited the Training Command Headquarters today, and after the conversation with the most senior commanding officers, he pointed out that what is important for the development of every army, is continuous training, professional development and investing in young people who are becoming the backbone of our country.

At the meeting, also attended by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Petar Cvetković, Minister Stefanović was briefed about the Training Command’s purpose and mission, its deployment and key tasks in the coming period by Deputy Commander of the Training Command, Brigadier General Jelesije Radivojević.
Minister Stefanović pointed out that today’s conversation with members of the Training Command was an opportunity for him to hear their vision of future development of soldier, NCO and officer training in our armed forces.

- What is important for the development of every army, as well as every organisation, is continuous training, professional development and investing in those young people who are becoming the backbone of defence, of our protection – Minister Stefanović pointed out.

It is very important that we invest more in all training centres in the coming period so that they can prepare for all future challenges and all goals that are neither easy nor simple, but will lead to further professionalization and training of our armed forces, as well as the acquisition of new knowledge.

- That knowledge is required for handling complex combat systems that the armed forces are being equipped with. Thanks to President Aleksandar Vučić and what was done in the previous period, today we can say that we have stronger armed forces, armed forces that possess more combat equipment for the execution of all potential tasks related to the protection of our country – Minister Stefanović assessed.

According to Minister Stefanović, one of important guarantors of strong armed forces is the Training Command which provides support to all units, which currently provides training to a large number of soldiers who are doing voluntary service, and to all the young soldiers whose status is changing to that of non-commissioned officers, as well as all members who are undergoing training in our 10 centres.
- Everything I have heard is telling me that their plans are serious and very ambitious and that in the next two to five years we will be able to see some improvement in everything that the General Staff does, what the Serbian Armed Forces do, and of course, what the Training Command does – Minister Stefanović emphasized.

Minister Stefanović emphasized that, through material resources, investment and staffing, he will do his best, as Minister of Defence, to help members of the armed forces feel that they have full support, which means better status in the armed forces, but also the opportunity to perform their regular tasks even more efficiently.
