Minister Vulin: Military health care is 195 members stronger

Military health care has made and is still making an enormous contribution to the fight against Covid-19, but it wouldn’t be that ready and successful if we hadn’t worked on its development and strengthening all these years – Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said during a visit to the Military Hospital Novi Sad.
He said that in the past three years, 561 persons, medical and non-medical staff, have taken up permanent employment with the military health care.

- I can freely say that this hasn’t been the case since the seventies, when the Military Medical Academy was established and the military health care assumed its current form. In the next period, we will provide permanent employment to another 195 members of the military health care – said Minister Vulin.

He also pointed out that, at the moment, 60 Covid patients are being treated in the military facility in Karaburma, seven of whom are on ventilators.

- Military health care will do its best, we are more experienced now than in the two previous waves, we are equipped with necessary equipment, and we have enough medicines and protective equipment. Our doctors and medical staff have managed to get some rest, and now we are ready for what is to come – said the Minister of Defence, who once again called on the citizens to follow doctors’ advice, “because we can only beat this virus together”.
Military health care is ready, and the state of Serbia and all its citizens can feel calm and secure, because military doctors are there, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said.

The Head of the Military Hospital Novi Sad, Colonel Dragan Koruga pointed out that that institution is ready for the next wave of Covid.

- We have prepared equipment and enough medicines for the next month and a half, and I would like to remind you that 202 patients were treated for Covid here, and I hope that we will manage to cope with the next wave successfully as well – said the Head of the Military Hospital Novi Sad and confirmed that there are no problems regarding the procurement of medical equipment.
