Minister Vulin: Fourth Brigde’s contribution to preservation of our peace is enormous

Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited today members of the Fourth Army Brigade in the “1300 Corporals” barracks in Vranje, where the unit commander, Colonel Novica Petrović, presented him with the Plaque of the Fourth Brigade as a sign of gratitude for the support and successful cooperation which resulted in the equipping the unit and enhancing its operational capabilities.
After the presentation of tactical and technical means, during which members of the unit shared with the Minister experiences they gained through using the “Lazar 3” off-road vehicles and new surveillance and reconnaissance equipment, Minister Vulin said that the Fourth Brigade’s area of responsibility also includes the Ground Security Zone, and that the contribution of its members to the preservation of our way of life and peace is enormous, and is not often given enough attention.

- When something happens, we wonder who did or did not do something, but when everything is peaceful, we take it for granted. And we should thank young men and women from the Fourth Army Brigade for the fact that everything is peaceful, because they are on duty in the Ground Security Zone 24 hours a day, 365 days a week and make sure that our everyday life and peace are never, in any way disturbed – the Minister of Defence pointed out and added that, precisely for that reason, all investments made in men, their equipment and standard of living always pay off.

Minister Vulin also emphasized that we owe a debt of gratitude to the members of that unit because during the Covid-19 pandemic, they proved to be exceptionally organized and dedicated.

- Whatever happens in the coming days, they will be there, and the South of Serbia can feel calm and safe, because their Fourth Brigade is there for them – said Minister Vulin.
Lieutenant Colonel Bojan Stojanović, Commander of the 40th Command Battalion of the 4th Army Brigade, says that in the past few years, this unit has been equipped with modern day and night surveillance and reconnaissance devices, modern off-road motor vehicles and “Lazar 3” armoured combat vehicles.

- All equipment that we received performed excellently during the execution of tasks, especially in the Ground Security Zone. Citizens had the opportunity to see all capabilities of the vehicles and the surveillance and filming equipment at the last exercise “Joint Action 2020” that was recently carried out at the provisional training ground “Pešter” – said Lieutenant Stojanović.
