Minister Vulin: Before EU officials tell us which words we can and cannot use, let them first prove that the promise they made when signing the Brussels Agreement is actually worth something

"If the EU spokesman was referring to Kosovo and Metohija, let me correct him, Kosovo and Metohija is not Serbia's neighbour, but according to Resolution 1244, a territory under the administration of the UN until a final solution is reached. If he doesn't believe me, he can ask the five EU members who share my opinion. The neighbours of the sovereign Serbia are sovereign countries, not territories that are not even members of the UN," said the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, reacting to the EU spokesman’s statement who, when asked to comment on the statements of Serbian officials, said that all representatives of the countries aspiring to join the EU should be clear that they need to fulfil their obligation to foster good neighbourly relations and regional cooperation.

“Reconciliation between nations does not depend on the EU’s interpretation of someone's statements, but on adhering to what was agreed in Brussels, on the way in which the law follows and implements EULEX. Reconciliation depends on forming the Association of Serb Municipalities, on finding the culprits for the murder of Serbian children in Goraždevac, the shooting of the reapers in Staro Gracko, and on returning the property to the expelled Serbs. Reconciliation between the nations depends on the preservation of the monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija, on the cessation of violence against Serbian children in Donja Brnjica. Reconciliation between nations depends on the EU's decision to start implementing the Brussels Agreement unconditionally and not to look for excuses for not implementing it. Before the EU officials tell us which words we can and cannot say, let them first prove that the promise they made when signing the Brussels Agreement is worth something," said Minister Vulin.
