Gathering of the First Generation of Military Grammar School Half a Century Later
The gathering of the first generation of the Military Grammar School was organised today in the building and hall of residence of that renowned military educational institution.
Those who “opened its doors” five decades ago, in 1970, evoked their memories of that time and toured the hall of residence and school building in which once they had begun their schooling.
Former students, today’s military pensioners, were greeted by Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, and later they socialised with new Military Grammar School students and shared the memories of their schooling.
One of the first generation students was retired Major General Vidoslav Kovačević, who points out that whenever the Military Grammar School is mentioned, he is overcome by strong memories.
-This is a big day for the Military Grammar School, especially for our generation, which has come to mark the first day of schooling, which started half a century ago. We are also happy because we meet the new generation which has started their education today – says Kovačević wishing that the Military Gymnasium continues to work and train personnel for future officers of the Serbian Armed Forces.
