Expert talks on the military budget
Department for Budget and Finance of the Ministry of Defense organized expert talks in the period from 12 to 15 October on the topics of budget, structure, organization, and the functioning of the financial service of MoD. The delegation of the National Guard of Greece headed by the Head of the Finances Directorate Brigadier General Teodoros Sidiropulous as well as the representatives of the Department of Budget and Finances of the Serbian MoD, and the Accounting Center and the Finance Section of SAF GS took part in these talks.The meeting participants considered topics pertaining to the planning and realization of the defense budget as well as the structure, organization and the functioning of the financial service in the defense system. Special attention was paid to the introduction of information systems and the IT support to the business process in the defense system.
Both sides showed interest in the processes of preparations, making of and the realization of the program budget. This issue, as was stressed, is especially important to the defense system of Serbia, as there are ongoing preparations for budget programming and the new way of financial planning in the defense system.During the talks, it was pointed out that given the similarities in the concept, organization, and the functioning of the defense systems of Serbia and Greece, such conferences were beneficial to the both sides. Both sides also expressed their expectations to continue similar meetings where other topics, such as procurement, sales, and the exchange of capacities in recreation and health care would also be further discussed.
