Minister Vulin: The strength of the Serbian Armed Forces is foremost in their men

The strength of the Serbian Armed Forces is foremost in their men - stressed Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin in his appearance in breakfast television programme on Happy TV station.

- The men are on the first place. We have managed to preserve the men. Owing to President Vučić, last year we increased salaries twice. That did not happen even in the times of the YNA. We increased salaries three times in three years.  It is still not enough and we will work on it some more – stressed Minister Vulin and highlighted that President Vučić as Supreme Commander calls him every day inquiring about the state in the armed forces, and if everything is provided that the armed forces need, whether all the tasks are executed, what the social status is along with health protection and equipment of members of the armed forces.

- In the Serbian Armed Forces, the people are the first and foremost since they perform difficult and responsible work without whom, as Minister Vulin reminds, one could not imagine how the previous two waves of corona virus would have gone if it had not been for the assistance of the armed forces.

- The Serbian Armed Forces are much stronger than they were several years ago and that is something that everyone admits. Everyone can see that, both our friends and enemies, but let everybody treat that fact the way they feel about it – Minister Vulin stated and added that the Serbian Armed Forces would grow even stronger, and their members and materiel it possesses would be in much better status.

According to the minister of defence, arming the Serbian Armed Forces is important because freedom does not have price, and in order for the armed forces to be capable of protecting our country, our way of life, and the Serbs no matter where they live, have to be armed and they have to be trained.

- When you are militarily neutral, it is then the greatest commitment, because you are on your own, and it is the most honourable. President Vučić chose the most honourable but the most difficult path. Military neutrality means that we do not belong to any alliance, and that we will make our own decisions, and that we will decide on development of our armed forces and the manner and reason for their use.

Minister Vulin reminds that President Vučić is the only statesman in the Balkans, and maybe in Europe, who passes his decisions absolutely autonomously, solely in line with the interests of his people, but that he often suffers fierce political blows because of his strict adherence to the policy of peace on the Balkans. And yet, as Minister Vulin points out, President Vučić believes that the fight that he wages is more valuable and more important than him.

- That is why the armed forces are equipped, armed, and trained but we are not threat to anyone. The stronger Serbia gets, the peace in the Balkans will last longer. Whenever Serbia was weak, then we had wars. Every investment in the power of the Serbian Armed Forces is an investment in peace on the entire Balkans and everybody should be pleased about it. If we have a strong Serbia, we will have peace, because we preserve it – state Minister Vulin.
