Minister Vulin: KFOR should implement its mandate, and not yield to politics

“KFOR executes well its military work, and we have good communication and good cooperation. What I resent is when KFOR yields to political pressure” underlined Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin in his appearance in breakfast television programme “Weekend Morning” on Happy TV station.

- KFOR now gives in to political pressures of the Shiptars who were terribly excited about a simultaneous patrol, which had happened over all these years, of KFOR and the Armed Forces of Serbia which passed through the village of Donje Karačevo. That is normal and completely acceptable. What did the Shiptars do? The Shiptars wanted to insert Kosovo Police Service in our joint patrols. That is absolutely unacceptable, and that is something that the Serbian Armed Forces cannot do, but KFOR announced that they will conduct patrols with the KPS, with Kosovo police – Minister Vulin explained stressing that for us it represented a serious security issue.

- That is why Chief of General Staff General Milan Mojsilović will request an official explanation on Monday as to how they envisaged it, how they intend to implement it and what will happen there – Minister Vulin said reiterating that we would not discuss simultaneous patrols whatsoever, but that we were interested in what KFOR did in that area with representatives of the KPS.

- They give in to political pressures and that is the objection that we have to KFOR. From the military aspect we have no objections, but we resent KFOR not implementing their mandate by endeavouring to reduce political pressure that it experiences in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija – stated Minister Vulin appearing in the breakfast television programme on Happy TV station.
