STATEMENT

Today, the Ministry of Defence requested from Nova S portal to publish the statement of the Ministry of Defence as a denial of the false news published under the title "63rd Parachute Brigade refused the order to go outside on the streets of Niš", which was published today at 11.06 am, at the same place where the false information was published, in accordance with Article 83 of the Law on Public Information and Media and Journalistic Ethics.

Nova S portal published the statement of the Ministry of Defence in the “Chronicles” section in an inconspicuous way, so the public does not have a clear insight into the true information. Although the Ministry of Defence clearly indicated that this is completely false news, Nova S portal continued to knowingly publish false information. The repeated false news on the Nova S portal is reported not only by domestic portals, but also by the media in the region, by which Nova S consciously participates in organized attacks against the Serbian Armed Forces.

In order to truly inform the public, the Ministry of Defence once again points out that Dejan Pavlović, the president of one of the unrepresentative unions in the Serbian Armed Forces, presented false news, and the real truth is that the 63rd Parachute Brigade was not given the order to go out on the streets of Niš last night nor is it intended for fighting violent protesters nor did it ever receive an order for anything like that.

The false news published on Nova S portal speaks of the bad intentions of those who made it up and who continue to spread it even though they know that it is a complete fabrication.

The Serbian Armed Forces continue to perform their tasks and engagement exclusively in accordance with the Constitution and the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces.

We call on the media not to publish such false news and to be aware of possible consequences which may ensue for publishing false news that disturb the public.
