Protocol signed with the Medical Insurance Institute
The Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac and the Director of the Republic Health Care Insurance Institute Svetlana Vukajlovic signed a Protocol on Business-Technical Cooperation today.
Signing this document will enable better conditions for diagnostics and treating the beneficiaries of the health care insurance institute in all military medical centers in Nis and the medical center in Novi Sad.-The protocol we signed today will enable these hospitals to sign contracts and to place them in the service of the civilians who need medical care in military medical centers, as the minister said before the signing of the Protocol reminding that such a similar contract had been signed two years ago. This document enabled the Military Medical Academy to become incorporated into the health care system of Serbia.
The minister took this opportunity to stress that this cooperation had been functioning at the top level for over two years now, who said, that opening MMA for the civilians had helped the process of restoring trust into MoD, SAF and the MMA. This act will enable that the citizens of Nis and Novi Sad have the same treatment.-Along with other contracts we expect to be signed, the Institute will have 2.5 million RSD engaged in MoD. This shows our serious approach to the military health care and that part of these funds had been invested for procuring modern diagnostic equipment and other medical equipment.
The Director of the Institute Svetlana Vukajlovic, said that the signing of the contract with military hospitals will enable the beneficiaries to wait less and to directly sent to military health care centers based upon the instructions of the GP of choice.
It should be remembered that the Institute had opened the doors to its medical centers to those military persons who do not have medical centers in their town, as this is a good way of two health care systems complementing one another. I hope that we will continue good cooperation with the Ministry of Defense in order to make use of all benefits this cooperation provides us with, thus making the medical care more available to both military and civil health care beneficiaries.
