State Secreatry Jeftic attends the conference of Visegrad group defense ministers



State Secretary Zoran Jeftic attended the meeting of the Visegrad group defense ministers held in Budapest, Hungary on Thursday.

This is the first meeting of defense ministers of Visegrad group (Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia( which was dedicated to integrative processes of the states of the western Balkans and Ukraine.

The meeting was attended by the defense ministers of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Ukraine as well as state secretaries, that is, assistant defense ministers from Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia.

State Secretary Jeftic stressed that the membership in the European Union was a priority goal of Serbian foreign policy. As for Serbia’s engagement in the Partnership for peace Program, he listed the current forms of cooperation through Individual Partnership Program and the Planning and Review Process, as well as the priorities in the upcoming period which include the implementation of the Information Security Agreement and the opening of the mission of Serbia with NATO.

Furthermore, Jeftic met with the defense minister of Ukraine, Mr. Valeriy Ivascenk. On this occasion, all the possibilities for improving cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense were considered, especially in the field of military medicine.
