Anniversary of "Binicki" art ensemble



A concert on occasion of the anniversary of “Stanislav Binicki” orchestra wil be held on 28 September, at 20:00 in the SAF Central Dome’s hall.


accompanies by the symphony orchestra and under the baton of conductors Vojkan Borisavljevic, Pavle Medakovic and Igor Mitrovic, “Legende” will also participate along with the performance of Ivan Bosiljcic, Mima Lazarevic, Ivana Knezevic and Milana Vasic.

“Belgrade military orchestra” established on 26 September 1899 by the edict of King Aleksandar I Obrenovic is the precursor of today’s art ensemble, and this orchestra was the founding stone for the Belgrade opera orchestra (1920(, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra (1923) and Radio Orchestra (1927).


The name is that of Stanislav Binicki, composer, military chaplain, and organizer of musical life in Serbia, the author of the first Serbian opera and the “March over the Drina” patriotic composition, when 110 years ago he conducted this orchestra.

“Binicki” has for decades now continued a noble tradition of promoting the music of our and world heritage, the music they perform has been recorded on over 300 records, cassettes, CDs, which contain more than 200 various famous compositions as a sort of music anthology.
