Minister Vulin: You know who your true friends are in difficult times

The Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, together with the Minister of Health, Zlatibor Lončar and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Belgrade, Mubarak Al Dhaheri, greeted Etihad's plane at “Nikola Tesla“ Belgrade airport, which brought medical aid from the United Arab Emirates at about 3.30 a.m. tonight.

- On behalf of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, it is my honour to convey his gratitude and the gratitude of all citizens of Serbia to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed and all the citizens of the United Arab Emirates. There are few countries in the world that have not requested assistance from the United Arab Emirates, and even fewer countries that have received such big, much needed and generous assistance as the Republic of Serbia has - said Minister Vulin.
You know who your true friends are in difficult times, Minister Vulin points out, noting that with the aid received, the agreement between President Vučić and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed materialized and showed that Serbia is not alone.

- Assistance is important and much needed. It has come at the right time, and it contains exactly what we need at the moment - masks, two types of protective suits, waders, all the things we really need at this moment. But this help has shown what is more important than any help in the world, namely, that we are not alone, that we have friends, that Serbia is appreciated, respected and genuinely loved - emphasizes Minister Vulin.

He also said that Serbia will always remember both good and evil and it gives back to everyone exactly what they deserve, and that is why the United Arab Emirates have a reason to look forward to a friendship with Serbia in the years to come, because Serbia owes them and it has the reason and obligation to return them the favour.
The shipment from Abu Dhabi contains 10 tonnes of medical equipment that will help Serbia in its fight against the coronavirus epidemic.

The received 13,750 protective suits, 15,000 hospital suits, 500,000 gloves, 30,000 protective shoe covers, 20,000 masks and 6,000 sanitizers are the first part of a donation from the Emirates, and respirators are expected to arrive in the next shipment.

Assistance from the United Arab Emirates was agreed several days ago after the conversation between the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, with the Crown Prince of the UAE, Sheikh Muhammed Bin Zayed.
