Minister Vulin with the Chinese doctors at the Belgrade Fair
The Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and the team of Chinese experts visited the Belgrade Fair this evening, which the members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been preparing in the past few days for the reception of patients with mild symptoms of the coronavirus disease, whose arrival is expected soon.
The head of the delegation of Chinese doctors, Peng Zijiang expressed his satisfaction with the conditions of accommodation at the Fair and the swift response shown by Serbia.
- My initial impressions are extremely positive, especially in terms of speed, because everything has been done extremely well and in a short period of time. Everything here is exceptionally well designed. They have created space for the employees and the patients, and they also thought about psychological assistance that the patients will need, the space for free time activities, watching television, etc. Special attention was paid to where the patients will be entering the facility, from the moment they are admitted to the hospital to their release, the arrival of doctors and visits to patients – said Peng Zijiang.
After the visit, Minister Vulin said he was very grateful to our Chinese friends for putting so much effort into helping us make the temporary field hospital at the Belgrade Fair functional, as well as all the members of the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces, employees of the Belgrade Fair, the Ministry of Health and the City Administration, who have made enormous efforts to get everything ready quickly for the admission of patients.
- The whole of Serbia has shown how fast, responsible and organized it can be. All the patients who come here will have the best possible conditions and attention, and the only thing we expect from them is to be disciplined and to do their best to be cured as soon as possible. The people who come here will not infect anyone else, but will wait here to be cured and thus protect their loved ones and their environment. All of us, whether healthy or infected, must be extremely disciplined to defeat this terrible disease,” said Minister Vulin.
Besides Minister Vulin and the Chinese doctors, the Fair was also visited by the Assistant Minister for Defence Policy, Milan Ranković and the Head of the Military Health Department, Brigadier General Uglješa Jovičić, MD.
