59 years of the Technical Overhaul Institute in Kragujevac
The Technical Overhaul Institute in Kragujevac marked its 59th anniversary today. The celebration was attended by high reps of MoD, SAF, of the Serbian Orthodox Church numerous affiliates and business friends and cooperators.
The Head of the Overhaul Institute Colonel Jugoslav Radulovic, in his congratulatory address to the employees, stressed that this institute had completed the previous business year with a completely fulfilled work agenda.- On the day when we are celebrating 59 years of tradition in destroying mine and explosive ammunition, we can say that there is a need for our services beyond our borders, which is why we plan to become a regional center for overhauling, and demilitarization of obsolete ordnance, as Colonel Radulovic said, stressing that 2010 would be a year of great business endeavors which will completely employ the institute’s capacities, as well as of the town of Kragujevac. He thanked on this occasion for the support MoD was providing to them and to other defense industry companies.
The most successful workers received prizes and special acknowledgments.This institution was established in 1950 and has been a leader in the fields of general overhaul and maintenance of ammunition and mine explosive ordnance ever since. This institution is tasked predominantly with updating the information regarding the current availability of ammunition in SAF units, with the lab testing of gunpowder and of rocket fuel, as well as elaboration and destruction of obsolete and dangerous ordnance.
The management of this institution plans to make this a regional leader in its field.
