Opening of renovated SAF Central Dome
Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac opened in the renovated Dome of the Serbian Armed Forces the exhibition of our renowned artist Milan Cile Marinkovic under the name “Action, attack, defense”. Emphasizing MoD and defense system’s constant efforts to raise the repute of the members of the army, the minister said that culture played an important part, adding the following:
One of the priorities in the defense system was restoring the repute of our army lost in the past two decades, since a number of activities were realized in the course of the previous year, which culminated in the promotion of new SAF officers. At the same time, MoD insisted on developing the culture in its ranks, especially through the activities of the Guard Orchestra and the “Stanislav Binicki” orchestra, and on the other hand our ministry supports art colonies which have had their impact in the world of art for several years now, as Sutanovac said.
- This year we have managed to renovate the SAF Central Dome, a facility dating to WWI when it was erected with help of the WWI warriors. By opening this exhibition of our renowned artist, in this for very important and newly renovated building, I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to the representatives of the Norwegian embassy and the Kingdom of Norway for helping this project with their donations and for equipping the media center we set up in the Central Dome, where we will be holding press conferences in order to inform the public of the latest occurrences in the defense system of Serbia.

In the presence of the members of the military diplomatic corps accredited to Belgrade, a number of friends and connoisseurs of his work, as well as of renowned Belgrade cultural institutions, generals and high ranking officers of SAF, the students of the Military Academy, art critic Djordje Kadijevic spoke of the Cile Marinkovic’s work.The members of art ensemble “Stranislav Binicki” gave a musical performance thus enriching the whole evening.
