Minister Sutanovac: Air show serves to promote our country
During the Batajnica 2009 air show, Minister told the press that we, as a country, were elated with the very fact that 14 countries have come to participate and that there is a large number of foreign delegations in this air show thus showing an enormous respect they have for our air force and the system of defense of Serbia”.Stressing his pleasure at the way the air show was progressing so far, he also said that judging by the expert comments of the pilots observing the flight program it was certain that their colleagues were giving their best and were making the best of the air crafts they were flying.
However, he was sorry at seeing that a number of visitors had unfortunately started late and could not come to the airfield on time, but expressed his hope that they would after all make it by the end of the flight program. As for the foreign delegations, he said that they were very pleased with the organization and hospitality in Serbia.
The international air show serves as a great opportunity to promote our country abroad and even more so among the Serbian citizens.
All 100.000 tickets were sold, but a large number of children entered free of charge, which sparks up hope that some of them would grow to like air force and would maybe even start a professional career in the air force.Expressing his hope that Serbia would find necessary resources to renew its air force, he also reminded that one air craft, such as the Eurofighter Typhoon cost 100 million EUR, which means that procuring such air crafts would solely depend upon the financial capacities of our country.
