Minister Vulin at the Batrovci Border Crossing: The Serbian Armed Forces carry out all tasks in the state of emergency

The Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited today the members of the Serbian Armed Forces at the Batrovci border crossing engaged in supporting the Border Police and the Sanitary Inspection, in accordance with the decision to introduce a state of emergency.

Minister Vulin pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces consistently follow the state of emergency order issued by the President of the Republic and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić.

- All our members are prepared, trained, provided with adequate protection so that they can fulfil all their tasks. Whenever you see the Serbian Armed Forces, you know that the state is organized; you know that the law is being implemented, you know that there is order. Here at the Batrovci border crossing everything is in perfect order, there is almost no passenger traffic, but the freight traffic is quite slow and these are the things that we will deal with - Minister Vulin emphasized.
Minister Vulin pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces will secure all the designated facilities and will put all their capacities at citizens’ disposal.

- I ask our citizens to understand how serious the situation is. I ask them to understand that if they feel well today it does not mean that they will feel well tomorrow. I ask them to obey all orders and the recommendations of doctors and the competent medical team. I ask our elderly fellow citizens not to leave their homes. Everything they need will be organized and they have no reason to go out. They should allow us to help them stay healthy and live long, to the delight of both our country and their families - Minister Vulin said, adding that if they do not see their grandchildren today or in a month’s time, they will see them later and they will be seeing them for a long time, because we should not make a mistake and sacrifice our own and our common future.

The Serbian Armed Forces, Minister Vulin emphasized, is here to help all the citizens of our country and will consistently execute all orders they receive from their supreme commander and the state leadership.

- I ask all the citizens to adhere to doctors’ advice and to help us overcome this as quickly as possible. It is the responsibility of all of us. Those who do not listen to doctors’ advice endanger themselves, but also the people around them. Let us be responsible, we must understand that this is a very dangerous situation and that is why the state of emergency has been introduced - said the Minister of Defence, once again urging all the citizens to comply with all the measures and advice so that we can defeat this epidemic.

One of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces engaged at the Batrovci border crossing is a member of the Fifth Battalion of the Military Police, Staff Sergeant First Class Ivan Milovanović.

- We have been engaged in assisting the Border Police and the Border Sanitary Inspection since the morning. We are ready to perform all the assigned tasks - Staff Sergeant First Class Ivan Milovanović points out, adding that there have been no problems so far.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces will be engaged in guarding and providing security control to public facilities on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. They will also be engaged in securing the hospitals where the potentially infected by the coronavirus are being supervised and the sick are being treated, as well as at border crossings, in order to assist the competent state authorities in controlling the crossing of border.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces will also be engaged in the locations where it is estimated that there is an increased movement of people during regular activities, in the places such as bus and train stations, airports, post offices and similar facilities.
