Competition Opened for Admission in the Military Schools




The competitions for admission in the military schools are open from 1st February until 15th March. The Military Academy will enrol 177 cadets for six programmes of study, the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy will enrol 25 cadets on the medical studies, the Military Grammar School will enrol 105 boys and girls on the first grade, 15 pupils on the second and 10 pupils on the third grade. The High Vocational Military School will admit 50 civilian pupils of both genders.
The competitions for admission in the military schools with all the details about the terms and conditions for applying have been published in the magazine “Odbrana” and on the web sites of the military schools and the Ministry of Defence.

The basic reasons for traditionally high interest of the young in enrolment on the military schools is superb education and excellent schooling conditions, free accommodation and meals in the houses of residence, entire teaching literature and the use of modern capacities for extracurricular activities.
 
The Military Academy offers modern high education and scientific and research work, visits to military educational establishments in the region and world, test of acquired knowledge in the field and practical forms of lessons, developed material base of instruction including modern simulation software, participation in scientific conferences and seminars in the country and abroad, cherishing and developing traditions and patriotism in accordance with the slogan of the Military Academy “Honour is our possession”. Over the course of the career professional advancement is possible in the National Defence School, including master and doctoral studies.

The Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy provides supreme education to its cadets and students in the field of medical sciences, encouraging research spirit, independence and accountability in work, so that as experts in different areas of medical profession and science, they would contribute with their skills and knowledge to the enhancement of military health care.
 
The Military Grammar School enables acquisition of new knowledge significant for the continuation of education at the Military Academy and Medical Faculty of the MMA. The programme of regular instruction in the Military Grammar School is harmonised with the teaching curriculum and syllabus of civilian general-programme grammar schools. The specificities are mandatory elements relating to military profession such as drill, military topography, basics of tactics, military training, weapons, firing and ski training.
High Vocational Military School enables acquisition of general, specialist and military specialist knowledge and skills, which after completion guarantees sure employment on initial non-commissioned officers’ duties.
All cadets and pupils have an opportunity to participate in numerous scientific, cultural and sports clubs and competitions, and use the state-of-the-art sport facilities (shooting ranges, gymnasiums, indoor swimming pool, gyms, fitness centres, football fields, basketball and volleyball terrains, halls for gymnastics and martial sports) and numerous other benefits enabled by the military schools.
 
Upon completion of the military schools they have a guaranteed job which enables them a successful professional development and permanent expert and career advancement.
This year, the enrolment on the military schools is done under the slogan “Honour, knowledge, Serbia - Military Academy”. Being a soldier in the ranks of the fatherland has always been an honour. Challenging and responsible profession of officers and non-commissioned officers of the Serbian Armed Forces is a continuous motive that attracts young people, so that the military schools are the right choice for the future.

In the framework of “Open Door” activity, pupils and parents can visit military schools every Saturday in the period in which the competition is open, where they will have an opportunity to converse with teachers, cadets and pupils and get all necessary information, and tour accommodation areas, classrooms and seminar rooms where instruction is held.

With a range of promotional activities on different television stations, its web sites and social network profiles, using printed and video material and appearances of representatives of the military school on television, the Ministry of Defence will daily inform the pupils and their parents about what the military profession entails and how they can apply for vacancies in some of the military schools they are interested in.
