Exhibition opened in the MIlitary Museum



State Secretary Zoran Jeftic opened today the “Scrolls and Diplomas “ exhibition in the Military Museum today. On that occasion, he stated that this would be a rare opportunity for 100 diplomas and scrolls to be gathered at one place, 300 of which are in the possession of the Museum, as they can serve as a tracking tool for cultural upheavals and changes in Serbia.

- You will have the opportunity to see the diplomas of numerous renowned persons of these times, and to follow the quality of diploma manufacturing since the first prints in 1860s to the finest early XX c items.

The exhibition of the senior curator Dusanka Maricic was opened on occasion of 22 August the Day of the Military Museum. The Museum’s collections husbands 30 diplomas and scrolls, as well as officers’ diplomas, scrolls and commendations, hand-written and embellished in paper seals testifying to the states, dynasties and rulers who awarded these items as well as of the artists who designed them. This is an original historic-documentary material of recognizable artistic value to be exhibited in such a way for the first time.

The exhibition will last till 23 September.
The opening was attended by Minister’s Staff members and the members of the CHOD staff, as well as units commanders and the directors of other museums.

The Military Museum also published a new, 36th issue of “Vesnik” magazine, which rounds up all the experts in the field of military as well as the catalog “Artillery and combat arms in the Military Museum’s exterior”. This exterior exhibition ranks as one of the most important collections in Europe.
