Generals Kambic and Mojsilovic visit "Humanitarian assistance" project sites

Deputy commander of the Joint Operations Command (JOC), Brigadier General Milan Mojsilovic and Deputy Commander of the Ohio National Guard Commander-in-Chief Major General Mathew Kambic visited the reconstruction works done on schools in Lapovo and Soko Banja as part of the “Humanitarian Assistance” project.

Both generals expressed their pleasure at seeing that the works went according to plan, as this was another opportunity to prove the solid friendship between the Ohio National Guard and SAF. Another thing that brings much joy are good relations established between the Ohio guardsmen and the local citizens.

,,Humanitarian assistance” is a project of construction-engineering works done in elementary school “Svetozar Markovic” in Lapovo, and in “Babmi” kindergarten in Prokuplje as well as in Soko Banja based villages of Trubarevac and Blendija, as this project is part of the State Partnership Program.

Replacing roof construction, installations, windows and doors on all objects was done by local construction firms in July, and these works were funded by the American side. This enabled the ONG and SAF members to start the façade works. The total value of these works is estimated at some USD 385 000.

The US guests had the opportunity to even get acquainted with the sights of this part of Serbia, and in their free time the members of SAF and ONG organized sports gatherings and events.
