Ministers of Defense of Serbia and France pay tribute to the warriors from the Macedonian Front





Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin and French Minister of the Armies, Florence Parley, paying an official visit to the Republic of Serbia, attended a ceremony honoring warriors from the Macedonian Front, held as part of the New Cemetery in Belgrade today.

Following the laying of wreaths at the French Military Cemetery, Minister Vulin entered in the Book of Remembrance.

- Your sacrifice and immeasurable heroism will never be forgotten, and the longstanding friendship of our countries will last forever. Rest in peace and know that your final resting place is on friendly soil for the freedom of which you laid down your lives, thus recording your names in history. May everlasting glory and thanks be to you, Minister Vulin wrote.

In her entry, Minister Parley wrote that “The battlefields of Macedonian Front have forged an unbreakable bond between France and Serbia and given special importance to our Brotherhood in Arms. We will never forget those who fought and fell for our freedom.”

With military honors and the intonation of the anthems of Serbia and France, performed by the Representative Orchestra of the Guards of the Serbian Armed Forces, Ministers Vulin and Parley also laid wreaths by the Memorial Hall of the defenders of Belgrade in the First World War.

Ambassador of the Republic of France to Belgrade Jean-Louis Falconi, Acting Assistant Minister for Defense Policy, Milan Ranković, representatives of the city of Belgrade and numerous associations that cherish and uphold the remembrance of the fighters of the liberation wars also took part in the ceremony of honoring warriors from the Macedonian Front.
