New vehicles for military ambulances

State Secretary Zoran Vesic awarded four new medical vehicles equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment for providing urgency relief to the Center for Emergency and Home Medical Care CVMU Belgrade, which means equipping military health institutions with modern medical vehicles.

-In the last two years, we procured 19 new vehicles, this year we got another 20, fully equipped and air conditioned, and 10 as a donation, while the rest was procured for the purposes of Universiade, after which they will be awarded to these health centers.

In his words, a significant step was made in improving the military medical transport and in equipping MMA, Nis military hospitals, and Novi Sad, the Center of military medical institutions, especially Ambulance and other health institutions.

– Our idea is to procure a certain number of vehicles every year in order not to be compromised with such a poor condition our vehicle park is in. In the upcoming period, from 2010 to 2012, we are expecting a complete change of terrain vehicles, as the pingzauers in use are already nearing their expiry date. We will also continue to procure sophisticated medical equipment such as EKG, defibrillator, ultrasounds…as we have already done with MMA, while Cepotina base will also get new equipment, as these modern equipment meets al medical standards. It will be used to provide urgent medical care to military health beneficiaries.

Colonel Dusko Ristivojevic,PhD, Head of Military Health Institutions Belgrade spoke of the importance and the high quality of the medical vehicles as he stressed that this service of home care and urgent medical assistance to military health beneficiaries had never so far received vehicles of such high quality, specialized in providing medical assistance.

This is a great contribution for military health beneficiaries in Belgrade garrison, including Barajevo, Grocka, Avala and Pazova…If I tell you that our vehicles cross 460 thousand kilometers per year in city traffic alone, it becomes quite clear how badly we needed new vehicles. The problem of maintenance old and new medical vehicles is enormous, and burdens us all, and by getting these four vehicles we have made a great leap towards improving medical assistance.
