Honorary artillery fire on the occasion of Belgrade Liberation Day





On the occasion of marking 75 years since the liberation of Belgrade in World War II –20October, today, on the Sava Terrace on Kalemegdan, the Guards of the Serbian Armed Forces performed honorary firing of ten shots from six artillery weapons in accordance with the order given by the President of the Republic and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić.

Numerous citizens were there for the firing, conducted by the Guards Battalion of the Serbian Armed Forces.

75 years ago, on 20October 1944, the German occupation of Belgrade, the capital of Yugoslavia, which lasted 1.287 days, ended with a major victory for the combined units of the National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia and the Red Army.
