Congratulatory message from the Minister of Defence on the Day of artillery-missile units for air defence operations
I extend to all members of the artillery-missile units for air defence operations my best wishes as they celebrate 30th September – the Day of the branch.
On that day in 1915, Radomir Raka Ljutovac shot down the first enemy aircraft in Serbia during the First World War with an anti-aircraft cannon.
By successful completion of the assigned tasks the members of your branch show a high level of readiness successfully continuing the tradition of World War I ancestors.
I am sure that you will continue to be a significant factor in the Serbian Armed Forces and a mainstay of fire-power in air defence. I congratulate you on your holiday, with a wish that you continue to successfully complete the assigned tasks.
